1 to 2 Hours- Wheeler Loop

Wheeler Loop on Map My Ride

Length = +/- 20 miles.
Terrain = easy.
Scenery = good.

Wheeler Loop - Probably the most frequently ridden ride around Fayetteville, this loop allows you to get out of town in a hurry and get in a workout quickly. Terrain is easy depending upon which way the loop is ridden. The "Wheeler Hill" is a short but relatively easy climb/descent, and is the only real major terrain obstacle on the ride. The remainder of the loop is flat to rolling hills.

Route - From FBC, traverse through town to the Harp's Market on Garland St. Once at the Harp's Market on Garland, Mt. Comfort Road takes off to the northwest immediately north of Harp's and immediately south of Lucky Luke's Bar-B-Q. Follow Mt. Comfort Road to Lewis Street. Turn right at the T intersection. Follow Lewis Street to Deane Solomon Road. Turn left at the T intersection. Follow Deane Solomon Road (which eventually turns into Mt. Comfort Road again) for approximately 5 miles until you come to the large booming metropolis of Wheeler. This is easily recognizable by the small red building that is currently the home of the Wheeler Fire Dept. on the right. Once you have made it to Wheeler, follow Mt. Comfort Road another 1 mile until you come to the first Washington County Road on the right. This is Co. Rd. # 893. Follow this road for approximately 3 miles until you come to State Highway 112. Cross Highway 112 (watch out for traffic coming down the hill) to County Road 54, which is to the right/east and approximately 50 meters on Hwy. 112. Follow Co. Road 54 east into the town of Johnson. When you come to the EZ Mart, turn right onto Gregg Street. Follow Gregg Street back into Fayetteville to the bike shop.
